Where do I get a recycling bin?

I’m all for recycling and at our house we recycle cans and bottles by going down to walmart but how do I recycle paper and plastic bottles at my own house? Where do I get those blue recycling bins and once I get one, do I just put it on the curb and somebody automatically recycles it for me? Or is it part of my trash pick up?

Thanks

The Expert answers:

You can get one from your local shire. They’re always free of charge.
A trash bin is used just like your regular rubbish bin. Where the rubbish bin goes is where the recycling bin goes.

David asksā€¦

Computer Recycle bin.?

I threw out Skype because it seems to slow down the computer,
and when I wanted Skype again I could not find it in the Recycle Bin ?
Any suggestions ?

The Expert answers:

IF you simply disable and deleted the Skype icon on the desktop, it will go to the recycle bin, however, finding it won’t be possible when you emptied the recycle bin just after deleting it. But if you uninstaller it, it is not possible to recover it except using windows’ system restore. But if you like a faster and easier way to get it back is just to download it again and install it.

John asksā€¦

Where do the files go after you empty the recycle bin?

Just curious of where the files go after you empty the recycle bin.

The Expert answers:

Actually, what you think of as files are actually pointers to segments in your memory containing the information within the file.

In other words, when you see “Mydocument.doc,” this “file” is being pointed to by the icon. In the memory, it is a set of binary data: 01001011001010 and so forth. When an item is “deleted” and sent to the recycle bin, the binary remains on the hard disk. Even when the recycle bin is emptied, the binary stays on your hard drive until it is replaced by something else. Files emptied from the recycle bin can be recovered because of this. The only way to completely delete a file is to use a file shredding program, which not only deletes the pointer to the file, but it also sets the values in that file to all equal zero.

i deleted my recycle bin on my desktop?

i empty my recycle bin yesterday and i must have deleted the bin itself on accident. how do i get it back?
i know that you can delete a short cut, thats what i’m using as of right now. i did a search for it and it didnt come up with anything

The Expert answers:

Here’s how to fix it. Right click on the desktop-click personalize-on the left side of the menu under Tasks click Change desktop icons-the Desktop Icon Settings box will pop up, under desktop icons put a check mark in the Recycle Bin box, click Apply-click Ok. That should fix it. A lot simpler than using System Restore.
For the next option, go down to your taskbar and right click in any open space. From the menu that pops up, click on Toolbars, Desktop. The word “Desktop” will then appear at the end of your taskbar with a double arrow beside it. Right click on those arrows and you will see an option for the Recycle Bin. Next, drag and drop that Recycle Bin icon to your desktop. That should reinstate your icon for you, but if you’re still having trouble, try this. Right click on your taskbar again and go to Toolbars, New Toolbar. There should be an option there for the Recycle Bin as well. You can then drag and drop that icon to your desktop. Doing either of these three things should bring your Recycle Bin icon back and you can get on with your daily computing!
